The Cheshire town of Crewe hosts the historic Lyceum Theatre, built in 1911. The Grade II listed building is a popular venue for a range of entertainment, including ballet, opera, dance, theatre, comedy and the yearly pantomime. It also holds an art gallery and runs both youth and community groups. The site of the theatre was formerly a Roman Catholic Church, before being renovated into a theatre, burnt down, then rebuilt into the theatre which stands today. The theatre still has a well below the stage, which was used on the grounds of the church, by local residents. It is also said to be haunted by three ghosts!
