As the world’s biggest football tournament draws to a close this Sunday, we’re taking a look back over some of its peaks and troughs. From a little light Uruguayan cannibalism courtesy of Luis ‘The Teeth’ Suarez to some of the most glorious goals we’ve ever seen – welcome to international superstardom, James Rodriguez – 2014 has certainly been one for the history books. And with all those goals came thousands of deals via the Domigoals app. Check out our infographic below for a look at the stats on the deluge of deals, match-day controversies and general football highlights over the course of the tournament.

And so as our weekly dose of world-class football is cruelly stolen from us, we want to know: what have been your favourite moments so far? Did you particularly enjoy Phil Neville’s, erm, unusual commentating technique, or Glen Hoddle’s knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time? What about Willian’s failed penalty attempt or Robben’s diving? Or perhaps it was the Colombian post-goal samba celebrations or Neymar’s quarter-final back injury that got you talking? Let us know your favourite football highlights in the comments section below.

And, whatever you do, don’t forget to download the Domigoals app for Android or iPhone in time for the final on Sunday (8pm on BBC1 and ITV, if you didn’t already know). If the rest of the matches are anything to go by, there’ll be more than enough chances to win. And who knows? We might just see another hat trick before the match is out!
